If you are self-conscious due to crooked teeth or gaps in your smile, ClearCorrect from BORO Dental Arts may be just what you need to restore your confidence. Instead of traditional braces, this method of orthodontic correction uses a series of clear plastic aligners to correct your smile. To get started, schedule a consultation with Dr. Lau today!
Like its leading competitor, Invisalign, ClearCorrect is a method of straightening your teeth without using braces. Instead, ClearCorrect uses clear plastic aligners, which look similar to a retainer or a nightguard.
Treatment involves using a series of these aligners to correct your smile. Each one is worn for about 2 weeks for 20-22 hours per day. Over time, each aligner exerts pressure on your teeth to move them toward the proper position. Once your treatment is complete, the result is a straight, beautiful smile.
The ClearCorrect treatment process begins with a consultation at BORO Dental Arts. Dr. Lau will examine your mouth to determine if you’re a good candidate for ClearCorrect. If she approves you for treatment, she will take images and dental impressions of your teeth, and begin planning your treatment with the team at ClearCorrect.
When your first several sets of aligners arrive at our office, you’ll come in to pick them up. Each aligner must be worn for 20-22 hours per day and is usually worn for about 2 weeks. The doctor will give you comprehensive instructions on proper aligner care.
You’ll come back to our office about every 4 weeks to pick up a few more sets of aligners and for a quick checkup to ensure that your treatment is on track.
Compared to Invisalign, ClearCorrect is often more affordable. However, this is not always the case since each patient’s orthodontic needs are different. ClearCorrect is also very thin, making it completely invisible when worn. It won’t affect your speech, either, so you can correct your smile without anyone knowing.
Beyond this, ClearCorrect has a few other benefits compared to traditional braces. Your aligners are removable, so you can eat and drink whatever you want. This also makes it easier for you to brush and floss. ClearCorrect is also more comfortable than traditional braces. The pressure it exerts on your teeth is more gentle, and since there are no metal components that can irritate your oral tissue, you will be able to avoid a lot of discomfort.
If your mouth is healthy and you have issues like slightly-crooked or crowded teeth, gaps in your smile, and minor bite alignment problems, ClearCorrect may be a good option for you.
However, ClearCorrect is not appropriate for all patients. If you have severe bite problems, very large gaps between your teeth, or extremely crooked or crowded teeth, you may be a better candidate for traditional braces. ClearCorrect is only intended to be used to treat minor-to-moderate orthodontic issues.
